The World Urban Campaign (WUC) is an advocacy and partnership platform to raise awareness about positive urban change in order to achieve green, productive, safe, healthy, inclusive, and well planned cities. Its goal is to place the New Urban Agenda at the highest level in development policies. It is coordinated by UN-Habitat and driven by a large number of committed partners - currently 180 partners and networks - from around the world. The Urban Thinkers Campus (UTC) is an initiative of UN-Habitat conceived as an open space for critical exchange between urban actors who believe that urbanization is an opportunity and can lead to positive urban transformations and is designed to localize WUC into action.
Dubai Real Estate Institute is a partner and hosts yearly UTC events to inform the New Urban Agenda set by the UN. Through advocacy efforts from around the world UTC reports have informed The City We Need, an international standard for good urban government and management of our cites.
The year’s UTC is a place to share, learn, and brainstorm the principles of The City We Need and will provide localize feedback to UN-Habitat. The Campus will be taking place from 14-15 November 2018 at the Dubai Land Department.
